A guest house in a lush garden at Beau Vallon, near Mahébourg, with an outdoor pool, bar-restaurant, private terraces and the airport ten minutes away.
See prices and availabilityLe Jardin de Beau Vallon is a guest house in the south-east of Mauritius, set in the Beau Vallon area on the edge of Mahébourg. Around an old colonial wooden house, now home to the bar-restaurant, a lush garden surrounds the outdoor pool and the rooms. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport is only about ten minutes away by car, which makes it a practical address for a first or last night on the island, as well as a base for exploring the lagoon and villages of the south-east.
The two room types are individually decorated, and each has its own private entrance and a terrace or balcony facing the garden. Inside you'll find air conditioning, a small seating area, a desk, a safe and a private bathroom with a shower.
On site, the restaurant serves Creole cooking made with local produce, and packed lunches are available on request. The team can help arrange car hire, an airport shuttle or excursions, and both the Wi-Fi and the private parking are free.

Le Jardin de Beau Vallon offers two types of Deluxe double rooms, measuring 30 and 35 m². They share the same approach: a private entrance, a terrace with outdoor furniture, views of the garden and pool, air conditioning, a seating area with a sofa, a desk and a safe. The private bathroom has a shower, a hairdryer and towels, and every room has a fridge, a kettle and tea and coffee facilities.
The difference lies mainly in space and sleeping arrangements: the first sleeps two in a double bed, the second takes up to three guests with a king-size bed and a single bed.

At Le Jardin de Beau Vallon, days unfold between the garden and the outdoor pool, with a sun terrace, sun loungers and even a water slide. The bar-restaurant in the main house offers Creole cooking, a kids' menu and wine and champagne (at extra charge), and packed lunches can be prepared on request for days out.
The team, who speak French, English and Hindi, can arrange an airport shuttle, car hire or outings. Daily housekeeping, luggage storage, express check-in, free Wi-Fi and parking, an EV charging station and 24-hour security round off the welcome.
Le Jardin de Beau Vallon lies along a private road in the Beau Vallon area, on the edge of Mahébourg in the south-east of Mauritius. The London Way supermarket is about 1.5 km away, Mahébourg's waterfront is 2 km by road and Blue Bay beach is a few minutes' drive. Several restaurants are nearby, the closest just a seven-minute walk from the property.
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is very close: allow about ten minutes by car. The team can arrange your shuttle, and car hire companies operate at the airport. Without a car, public buses 9, 10 and 198 link the airport with Mahébourg, whose bus station is about 2 km from the guest house; bus 198 continues to Port Louis and bus 9 to Curepipe. Remember to let the property know your arrival time, as check-in runs from 14:00 to 23:30.
On Mondays, Mahébourg's big market fills Rue de la Passe near the waterfront with fruit, vegetables, spices, fabrics and basketwork, and it's busiest in the late morning. The National History Museum, housed in an 18th-century mansion that served as a hospital during the Battle of Grand Port in 1810, has been closed for renovation since December 2025, so check whether it has reopened before you go. Blue Bay Marine Park can be explored by glass-bottom boat or with a mask and snorkel straight from the beach. From Pointe Jérôme, guided tours of about two hours head to Île aux Aigrettes, a nature reserve home to pink pigeons and Aldabra tortoises; it's wise to reserve ahead. Ferney Valley, a nature park in the south-east, is less than ten minutes' drive away. The most pleasant season runs from May to October, when it's drier and cooler; from January to March, rain and cyclone risk are higher.
